Gardening for Homeowners! MSU Cooperative Extension                            
July 9th Grow Great Vegetables
July 16th Composting and Water Quality
July 30th Keeping Your Plants Healthy                                                                     Aug 6th Landscaping with Woody Ornamentals                                                        Cost: $10 per session Horticulturist Cassandra Hackstock will provide this practical lecture series with plenty of hands on projects that homeowners can put into practice for successful lawns and gardens! There will be weekly drawings for giveaways including coffee mugs, lunch bags, books and free soil testing. Participants will also receive a folder of bulletins of various topics of information pertinent to each class. *This program will be used to gauge interest for a Master Gardening Training Course in our Downriver Community for Certification as a St. Clair County Master Gardener!

Paintball July 12 & 26 every other week, 9am-1pm. Participants can register on site for $10 per session. Pre-registration fee is only $6 per session. Equipment will also be available on sight for additional fee. Ages 14 and older are welcome to participate, 18 years and younger will require signature of parent or guardian on waiver. Waivers are available in the DRC Office located in the Algonquin Middle School, 9185 Marsh Road. Or from the DRC Website. All sessions held behind the Algonac High School Football Complex. Flea Market-Join us on the 2nd Sunday of every month unless a holiday, 10am-4pm at the Algonac Community Center 1765 Washington. Call Julie Call at 794-2978 if you would like to rent a table.

DRC Summer Playground FUN!
9am-3pm Monday thru Thursday. 6 WEEKS, Starting June 23rd Pre K - 5th Grade

Rec Investigators
Enjoy the outdoors! Appreciate Natural Resources! 
Starting June 23rd 12 - 4pm, 6 years old - 12 years old Cost: $35   Monday - Thursday   6 weeks Or TRY SOMETHING NEW!
You can pick and choose which days you would like to attend. Here is the weekly line-up:
Mondays  - Fishing, Making lures, etc.- Cost: $10/6 Mon.
Wednesdays - Teepee and Cardboard Boat Building -Cost: $10/6 Weds.
Location vary within the Algonac/Clay Community Special Field Trips Fridays For additional Low Price

Skate Park Patrol
Staff will be available Mondays - Thursdays, 9:00am-3:00pm, to provide instruction for beginners and oversee activities. Helmets and pads will be recommended as well as best practices when supervisor is on duty. Entry remains free of charge. Younger skaters encouraged during morning.

Kayaking
Let the DRC Crew take you out in our Coast Guard approved Inflatable Kayaks! Enjoy a leisurely tour of our local natural resources! Trips scheduled by appointment, weekday evenings only! Cost: $25.00 per person

USTA Tennis Lessons
All lessons held at Algonac High School. Starts July 8th, 7pm Cost: $25 - 4 weeks There will be two separate, 4-week sessions available. All Age Beginners welcome!
Advanced classes can be scheduled if enough are interested.

Horsin' Around!                                                                                               A 4H Program through DRC! Want to learn all about Horses? This Program is just for you! (Ages: 9 thru 14) Learn the history of the first horse! Learn about different breed types. Make a fossil hoof print. There will be two field trips, one to a horse boarding facility/special needs riding program and one to a vet clinic. Lots of hands on learning opportunities!  Owning a horse is NOT required! Thursdays: 7/10, 7/17, 7/31, and 8/7 Time: 1 - 3pm     Cost: $10 (2 books provided)

Summer Dance Classes
Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop and Pointe. Ages 3 years and older. Starts Thursday July 10th. All classes held at the Algonac Community Center. Cost: $60 for 6 weeks. Some classes have age or experience requirements. Call DRC for schedule details!

Special Needs Planning
Study special needs trusts with emphasis on avoiding estate or federal benefit disqualifications; safety of money Thurs., Aug. 7th, 7:00pm Cost:$5

Walk Michigan
Friends and Families! Enjoy our Riverfront Community! Non- Competitive 1 mile walks,
Open to all ages! Interested walkers will be eligible for a drawing to win a trip to Mackinac Island Bridge Walk Michigan! Call DRC for walk schedule!

Little Kickers
This one's for the little ones. We emphasize simple soccer skills and
fun games for 3-5 year olds.
Cost: $20, four week program.
Starts: Tuesday, July 1st, 6:30- 7:00pm.

Archery Clinic
Starts Wed., June 25th, $40, 4 wks
Ages 8 & up Beginner: 6-7pm, Advanced: 7:15pm. (Minimum 5 students needed for advanced class) Strong emphasis on safety.
Beginner - Recurve bow provided, Advanced - Bring your own, Compound!
ADULTS are also welcome!!

Learn to Crochet!
Tuesdays, Starting July 1st, 2-4pm
Fridays, Starting August 1st, 12-2pm
Cost: $20.00 for 5 sessions!

String Camp
Group Violin Lessons! Begins July 16th 9am-12noon. Meets twice week. Ends with concert for parents and guests! Cost: $35, 4-wk program, Includes book. Rental information at first class!

Scrapbookin @ the Center!
July 25th, Aug. 29th and Sept. 26th. Share ideas and spread out on big 12-foot tables without distraction at the Algonac Community Center. Doors open at 5:30pm until 12midnight! Cost: $3 pre-registration, $5 at the door
